October 2018

Matt and Justine had a fairytale type of wedding that videographers dream of — a beautiful bride and a strapping groom set to say “I Do” at sunset at a gorgeous natural amphitheater during fall in Western Wisconsin. Door County is a dream site for anyone who loves fall weather in the Midwest.

The site of the ceremony was Peninsula State Park and processional began just as the sun began to set — while that sounds lovely, darkness is not the best friend of a camera trying to capture a wedding ceremony. Thankfully, we had the best lowlight cameras money could buy at the time, Sony A7sII bodies, which I always said could “pretty much see in the dark.” These state-of-the-art tools go a long way in making sure no moments are missed within a wedding day, even in dark ceremony sites or low-lit reception halls.

The getting ready portions and the celebration took place at Gordon Lodge, a truly scenic space on the waters of Lake Michigan. With an ideal wedding videography backdrop like Gordon Lodge, these are the times we are grateful to have a drone in the tool belt. The visuals we captured of the lodge space and surrounding areas helped build the setting of this stunning fall wedding.

When you plan a wedding like this, sometimes couples want to spare no expense with their wedding photo and video coverage — this was one of those events. In addition to a short highlight film, the full ceremony, speeches and first dance, Justine and Matt also elected to have a feature length edit of their wedding day, which is a long form film recapping the day. They also worked with our team to create a Love Story film, which was truly unique — we recreated their first date, some other touching moments in their courtship and showcased the life they had already began to build together with their family of wonderful pets. You can see their Love Story film linked in the library below.

Our team of three videographers worked alongside James Netz Photography on the wedding day — he is an extraordinary photographer who will stop at nothing to get the perfect shot. All still images you see here are from Jim himself.

What We Delivered:

Their wedding content was all delivered via an online media player, where couples can access their content anytime they have an Internet connection. This library of content is easily shareable to friends and family after the wedding. If you click on the ‘Scene Selection’ below, you can see we delivered a Love Story Film, Feature Wedding Day Film, a Highlight Film, the Ceremony, Speeches and First Dance. That’s a lot of content from one wedding, but I guess you could say we captured it all!

Justine’s Review of Our Wedding Videography:

Matt was an amazing videographer for our wedding, our pre-wedding video, and our post-wedding shoot. He was eager to make it perfect for us! He wasn’t afraid to use his creative talents to make our videos stand out and fit our specific style and taste! He was also happy to edit anything we wanted to change up as we went along, although really no changes were needed. He made us an outstanding pre-wedding film that brought our wedding guests to tears! Then he took footage from our wedding and our post wedding shoot to create an emotional memoir of our wedding that we just love! We would HIGHLY recommend him! He will turn your day into a magical memoir that you’ll be delighted to have! And he won’t be afraid to step outside the box to get there!!
